Hi, I’m Ted an Apparel Designer Innovating at the Intersection of Craftsmanship and Technology.
I’m an Apparel Design student at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a hands-on approach to creativity and a love for solving problems.
Whether I’m learning new sewing techniques, diving into trend reports about emerging tech, building a chair, developing an AI chatbot, or experimenting with new software, I’m always looking for ways to challenge myself and grow.
I care deeply about craftsmanship and creating designs that are thoughtful, functional, and meaningful. For me, problem-solving is at the heart of everything I do, whether it’s figuring out how to improve the fit of a garment, making something more sustainable, or finding creative ways to combine technology with design.
I love diving into the world that challenges bring and coming up with solutions that work as well as feel exciting and purposeful.
How I Deliver for Your Team
Advanced Product Development: 10+ years of Adobe Creative Suite experience, combined with 4+ years expertise in Clo3D, Fusion 360, and 3D prototyping, enable rapid translation of creative concepts into clear, production-ready technical packages, reducing costly revisions and speeding up sample approval.
Proven Process Optimization: At Satin Stitches, introduced AI-driven workflow and pricing solutions that cut production costs by 30% and sped up new product timelines by 25%, leveraging prompt engineering alongside custom technical sketch libraries in Adobe Illustrator, and digital PM dashboards to keep complex projects on track.
User-First Approach for Design: Deep user research and pain point analysis drive innovative product solutions that directly address market needs. Demonstrated in the Eclipse Cycling Jacket project, where identifying cyclist key accessibility challenges led to pioneering integration of FIDLOCK technology with bike lock compatibility, creating unique features that enhance usability and drive product differentiation in competitive markets.
Team Strength & Real-World Delivery: Led cross-functional groups and collaborative initiatives from the Apparel Design Collective to NASA student projects, consistently delivering on-scope, on-time results and adapting quickly to evolving project needs.

Vision
As I look to the future, I’m eager to push boundaries in apparel design by integrating technology with traditional craftsmanship. My goal is to create innovative, sustainable products that enhance lives while redefining how we approach fashion production.
2015
I started off designing for some of my favorite YouTubers, creating logos, banners, and animations. This gave me foundational skills in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and general design principles.
2017
I eventually started playing around with motion graphics and expanding my experience with After Effects. I continued to make graphics for friends, family, and customers.
2020
I eventually wanted to expand beyond just the screen for my designs, so i decided to blend my interest for fashion and graphic design skills to start my own brand Brutal Garments. I screen printed the collections, and eventually released one cut and sew collection.
2022
I wanted to expand my knowledge in apparel production and creation. My goal coming into college was to be able to sew anything that comes to mind. Along the way, I discovered a deep passion for functional design, with a particular focus on outerwear and activewear. My time at the University of Minnesota has been all about honing my skills and exploring how design can blend creativity with purpose.
2025
This year, I’m focusing on creating new designs for outerwear and activewear that combine style and practicality. I’m also diving into the world of AI, exploring how it can be used to improve the apparel design process. At the same time, I’m thinking about meaningful ways to use AI to make a positive impact in the industry and beyond.
